Franklin man charged with taking copper pipes, tools

Eric Morin, 28, of Franklin was arrested Tuesday and charged in connection with a suspected break-in earlier that day at a Franklin home.

The Franklin police said a resident of Calef Hill Road said she saw a strange vehicle at her neighbor’s home. She confronted a male leaving the house, who said he had been hired by the property owner to do yard work. The neighbor inspected the home after the man left, and said she found evidence of a break-in. She then called the police and provided descriptions of the vehicle and then man. Officers later met with the homeowner and confirmed several sections of copper pipe had been removed from the basement and several power tools were missing.

Later that day, the man was stopped by the Northfield police. Franklin officials later executed a search warrant on the vehicle, where they said they found copper pipe and power tools.

Morin was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft by unauthorized taking.
