Search warrants public in Zumba prostitution case in Maine
Search warrants associated with the Zumba prostitution case in Kennebunk have been made public.
WMTW-TV said the documents shed light on what led investigators to charge dance instructor Alexis Wright and her alleged business partner, Mark Strong. Wright is charged with engaging in prostitution and Strong is charged with 59 misdemeanor counts. They’ve both pleaded not guilty.
Court documents show the Kennebunk police started getting calls from anonymous and concerned citizens in September 2011.
The documents detail parts of the investigation including what the police said was a recorded telephone call between a Maine Drug Enforcement Agent and Alexis Wright arranging sexual conduct for money.
They also reveal that the owner of an office in Kennebunk, where Wright was renting property, went to the police after finding items including internet videos of Wright.
