Epsom pharmacy tech suspended

The New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy suspended an Epsom pharmacy technician after it found evidence she practiced while impaired from controlled substances.

The board suspended the privileges of pharmacy technician Amanda Allen, 25, effective Thursday.

A press release issued by Attorney General Joe Foster said Allen practiced while impaired from controlled substances many times over the past several months while working at the Care Pharmacy of Epsom.

According to the pharmacy board’s order, Allen admitted to investigators that she regularly practiced while impaired. She did so as recently as July 6, the order said.

Allen also admitted to investigators that she has a drug problem, the order said, and she acknowledged that working as a pharmacy technician would be an issue for her because of the proximity to controlled substances.

The Board of Pharmacy scheduled a hearing for Wednesday to determine whether Allen’s privileges should remain suspended while the investigation continues.
