Update, Monday morning: A Belmont man has been charged with robbing the Concord Moose Lodge early yesterday, the police said. Harold Williams, 66, turned himself in at the Concord police station last night after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was charged with robbery, released on a $100,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Concord’s district court.

According to the police, an older white male entered the 170 N. State St. lodge early yesterday morning, showed a knife and took an unspecified amount of cash. The police said he fled in a newer model station wagon.

A warrant was issued for Williams’s arrest and he turned himself in at the police station at 6:52 p.m. yesterday, the police said.

Original story: The Concord police responded Sunday morning to reports of an armed robbery at the Moose Lodge.

A witness at the 170 North State St. lodge told authorities an older white male had taken an unspecified amount of cash at knife point and then fled in a newer model station wagon, according to a press release. The police arrived at the lodge about 7 a.m.

A man at the lodge declined Sunday to comment on the incident, which the police said was still under investigation.

The police also declined Sunday to release any new information about the apparent vandalism discovered Saturday at RTT Associates, the sex-offender counseling center near North State Street.
