Fire at 23 Downing St. in Concord leaves one injured

Three fire engines, a tower truck and three ambulances responded to the house fire at 23 Downing Street in Concord on Monday morning, October 7, 2013. The fire was contained just before noon, leaving what fire officials described as extensive damage inside.

One person was taken to Concord Hospital this morning with an ankle injury and smoke inhalation incurred while fleeing from a fire at 23 Downing St.

The fire was reported at 11:11 this morning, and the Concord Fire Department reached the scene three minutes later to find smoke coming out the windows on both floors of the building. Three fire engines, a tower truck and three ambulances responded to the call.

The fire was contained just before noon, leaving what fire officials described as extensive damage inside.
