There were only a few rules mandated to the 25 students that were about to launch themselves down a slope on a plastic tube at Pats Peak yesterday afternoon. One emphasized listening to the instructions and asking questions when necessary and another reminded them to have fun. The last: speak English only. The group that descended on the ski area was comprised of students in Concord High School’s English Language Learners program, recent arrivals from eight different countries. Many were experiencing this kind of snow fun for the first time.
