Deborah Buckley, former Pembroke principal, to take on interim post in Allenstown
The Allenstown School District has a new leadership team this year.
Deborah Bulkley will fill the role of interim principal. She retired this spring after 12 years as principal of Three Rivers School in Pembroke.
Former principal Lynn Allen resigned in June to be principal of an elementary school in Rochester. A search committee met with several candidates before deciding to recommend the district contract with Granite State Transitional Principals for one year of service; the contracting service will pay Buckley’s salary and benefits for one year.
“This way, we’ll be able to do a search starting in January or March and really have time to do it right, and still have school start off well this year,” said Superintendent Helene Bickford.
A press release from the school district said Buckley “is student-centered, knows educational practices well, and is committed to positive interactions with all constituent groups.” She began working with the district yesterday.
Mark Paul Dangora, assistant principal at Rochester Middle School, will be assistant principal in Allenstown this year. Dangora also taught history and political science for seven years and was the education coordinator for the Youth STAR AmeriCorps Program based in Chelsea, Mass., for three years.
