Unity residents irked by school construction delays

Residents of the small town that is home to the only school ordered closed by the state Board of Education for safety concerns are frustrated by delays at a new school under construction.

About 100 Unity students may spend the entire academic year attending school in nearby Claremont due to construction delays at the new elementary school.

The Valley News reported that construction halted in August until the inspectors of the state fire marshal’s office can weigh in on the window design for the school.

The Unity Elementary School in 2010 became the first school in state history to be ordered closed for fire code violations.

Parents at a Unity School Board meeting Tuesday night expressed anger at the delays.

It should come as a surprise to anybody that BIG Govt intrusion into any process results in a delay
