DeSmith earns second straight Hockey East Goaltender of the Month award
The good news keeps coming for the UNH men’s hockey team. A day after being ranked the No. 1 team in the country, goaltender Casey DeSmith was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for November.
The win was DeSmith’s second straight, as he was the conference’s choice for October as well. The sophomore went 5-1-1 during November, posting a 1.65 goals against average and a .951 save percentage. He notched three shutouts, and built a scoreless streak of 203 minutes, 32 seconds, which is the longest in school history.
The last goalie to win back-to-back Goaltender of the Month distinctions for the Wildcats was Brian Foster, who did so in December 2010 and January 2011.
