Knightly award

Robert Leroux Council 10943 earned the distinction of Double Star Council for the 2011-12 year from the Knights of Columbus headquarters. This award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership recruitment and retention, promotion of the fraternal insurance program and sponsorship of service-oriented activities. By reaching 200 percent of its membership quota, the Belmont council achieved double star status, the only one of the 67 New Hampshire councils to receive this award. Among its community service activities are supporting the St. Joseph Food Pantry in Belmont, assisting at the Hands Across the Table soup kitchen in Laconia, conducting roadside cleanup on Route 140 and sponsoring Red Cross blood drives.
