An armed robbery occurred at a convenience store in Tilton at about 7 p.m. last night, the police said. No one was injured.

A male suspect entered Stafford Food and Beverage at 311 W. Main St., pointed a handgun at the female clerk and demanded all the cash in the register, the clerk told the police. The suspect fled the store on foot toward Academy Road and Prospect Street, the police said. There were several hundred dollars of cash in the register, said Tilton police Chief Robert Cormier.

The clerk described the suspect as a white male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 to 170 pounds. He was of thin build and wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, pants, a face mask and a hat.

The Tilton Police Department is asking anyone with information to call officers at 286-4442, or leave an anonymous tip with the robbery tip line at (855) 286-6565.
