Contoocook man charged with sexually assaulting teen in Concord, New York City
A Contoocook man is facing accusations in Concord and New York City that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
While the Concord charge against Adarmis Perez stems from one incident in 2010, the abuse in New York City was ongoing and rises to a felony level offense, according to the police.
Perez, 50, is being held on $110,000 cash bail. The police said the teen reported the abuse in January, and Perez was arrested Feb. 28. While Deputy Chief Keith Mitchell of the Concord Police Department declined to provide details about the single incident alleged in Concord, he said the offense is a misdemeanor and did not involve sexual penetration.
But the abuse in New York happened on multiple occasions when Perez placed the teen on his lap and then put his finger inside her vagina, according to the police. Perez is also accused of lying on top of the girl in bed and “pressing his genital area against her genital area,” according to the arrest report.
On Feb. 1, Concord police Detective Chris DeAngelis contacted the police in New York City. The teen traveled there later in February to meet with a detective and a district attorney.
The New York City police issued an arrest warrant for Perez on Feb. 28, and officers in Concord arrested him that day at Teddy’s Tee in Concord.
Perez, who lives on Gage Hill Road in Contoocook, was arraigned March 1 in Concord’s district court on a misdemeanor charge of sexual assault and a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice.
Mitchell said Perez will likely be extradited to New York for prosecution once his criminal matters here are resolved.
