Concord police investigate suspicious item left at Mobil on Loudon Road
Businesses and homes on Loudon Road were evacuated last night after the police found an item they believed was a pressure cooker, but later discovered was a small deep fryer. No one was injured.
The police received a report of a suspicious item at the Mobil gas station on Loudon Road last night at 10 p.m. A silver and black object that looked like a small pressure cooker was next to a fuel pump, according to a police press release.
Nearby business were evacuated and Loudon Road was temporarily closed. The FBI, the state police explosives unit and the Concord Fire Department responded to the scene.
The item was a small deep fryer, and the police said it was safe.
