Traffic detour planned for Fourth of July celebration

Traffic will be rerouted around the area of Memorial Field today beginning at noon to accommodate the city’s Fourth of July celebration. Here are the changes to look out for:

∎ At noon, Langley Parkway will be closed from Clinton Street to Pleasant Street.

∎ At 3:30 p.m., South Fruit Street will be one way going north between Clinton to Pleasant streets; Redington Road will be one way going east between Tuttle and South Fruit streets; Minot Street will be one way going north between Pleasant and School streets.

Watch for detours on the grounds of the state hospital campus as well. If you park there, you’ll exit east through the grounds to Pleasant Street after the fireworks show.
