Former N.H. state Sen. Lambert formally announces House bid
Former state senator Gary Lambert is running for Congress in 2014 against incumbent Democrat Annie Kuster.
Lambert, a Republican from Nashua, formally announced his plans yesterday in Hudson to formally kick off his bid for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District.
Lambert served one term in the state Senate and did not seek re-election in 2012. He had said that the fact he is returning to active duty as a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve played a major role in his decision.
Lambert had won reinstatement to the Marine Corps after suing the government over being forced to retire in 2009 along with 98 other colonels.
Kuster defeated Republican incumbent Charles Bass in 2012, but polls suggest that she’s vulnerable.
