Power briefly knocked out in Concord, Bow, Pembroke
The lights went out on the Heights and in neighboring communities yesterday evening, and the hot weather and thunderstorms weren’t to blame.
According to the Unitil website, a dump truck “took out” a Public Service of New Hampshire transmission line. The accident, which occurred about 5:30, knocked out power to more than 5,000 customers on the Heights and in neighboring communities, including Pembroke, Bow, Hooksett and Allenstown. The outage took out traffic lights on the Heights, leaving the Concord police to direct drivers through intersections.
For the most part, power was restored in several hours, according to the Unitil website.
