2 men suspected of burglaries in Maine, N.H.

Authorities said two men recently arrested in York, Maine, on burglary charges may be linked to a burglary in New Hampshire.

The police said George Sproul of Limington, Maine, and Harley Herman of Sanford, Maine, both 20, were arrested last weekend on three counts of burglary and receiving stolen property. Most of the burglaries are believed to have taken place on or about Sept. 20. During one, they encountered a homeowner armed with a firearm.

The police said items taken include firearms, a pickup truck, an ATV, computers, TVs and jewelry.

The police said Sproul and Herman are suspects in a burglary in Alton Bay in which a pickup truck, an ATV and a firearm were stolen. All items were recovered in Limington.

The two are being held at the York County Jail in Maine on $15,000 bail.
