Victim of fatal crash identified as Henniker man
Friends of Scott Davison, the Henniker man killed in a single-car crash over the weekend, have been collecting their memories of him on a Facebook page in his honor.
Davison, 40, was driving on Pine Street in the early hours of Sunday morning when his pickup truck left the road and hit a tree, the police said. Dispatchers received a call about the accident at 12:14 a.m. Sunday.
Davison was alone at the time of the crash, which is still under investigation.
Before his death, Davison worked as the assistant superintendent of the highway department in Henniker. He was a lifelong resident of the town, and his mother, Fay Davison of Bedford, said his friends there have reached out to her and her family.
“The support and the caring remarks and everything that we’re getting from the whole town of Henniker is phenomenal,” she said. “He was so well-liked . . . by everybody and such a good guy, and we don’t know what happened.”
The Facebook page – titled “Remembering Scott A. Davison (June 30, 1973-November 10, 2013) – has become a tribute to that local support, as many of Davison’s friends reflect on a man many of them wrote embodied the town’s spirit. The page has more than 200 members.
Town Administrator Tom Yennerell said Davison’s knowledge of Henniker was “limitless.”
“He grew up in Henniker, so we’re all extremely saddened by this, and really going to miss the guy,” he said.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Holt-Woodbury Funeral Home in Henniker, followed by a graveside service at the New Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Davison’s name to the Henniker Fire Department.
