Lambert to announce bid for N.H. 2nd District
Former state senator Gary Lambert is planning to announce a bid for New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District at a news conference next week.
Lambert, a Republican from Nashua, served one term in the state Senate and did not seek re-election in 2012. He had said that the fact he is returning to active duty as a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserve played a major role in his decision.
Lambert had won reinstatement to the Marine Corps after suing the government over being forced to retire along with 98 other colonels in 2009.
He is scheduled to hold a news conference at the Hudson VFW Hall on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Democratic Rep. Annie Kuster currently holds the seat. She defeated Republican incumbent Charles Bass in 2012.
