Fred Fuller back on track for oil deliveries, attorney says

Fred Fuller Oil and Propane Co. is “through the worst” of its oil delivery shortage and expected to be caught up on deliveries by the end of the day yesterday, attorney Simon Leeming said.

“They’re glad to report that they believe as of the end of this delivery day that they will have in fact brought things back to where they’ve caught up, or at least caught up to a degree that they’re able to deliver services and keep the homes of New Hampshire warm,” he said yesterday evening.

The state set up an emergency hotline Tuesday in response to delivery delays by Fuller, the state’s largest private home oil provider. The company said the shortage was caused by a “perfect storm” of events including increased demand due to harsh weather and a malfunction with the company’s phone lines. The immediate focus of the hotline was on customers who were out or almost out of oil. As of yesterday morning, more than 1,500 people had called, according to the governor’s office.

“The hotline will remain open until we are confident that response times are sufficient to ensure the health and safety of customers,” Marc Goldberg, the governor’s spokesman, said in a statement.

Leeming said Fuller apologizes to customers that were inconvenienced and thanks those who were supportive. This is the first major supply problem the company has had in 45 years of operation, Leeming said. He also praised the state agencies that worked with Fuller to operate the hotline and resolve the issue.

“They jumped in very, very quickly and helped in a very remarkable way,” he said.

If fuller really wants to apologize to his customers he shouldn't do it through his lawyer ....just saying

why would they not be caught up! I'm guessing many of their long-time customers like myself got tired of being jerked around and went to other oil dealers. My 4 unit apartment ranu out of oil at 11:00 p.m. last week, was supposed to be autofill, they sent a tech with 10 gals at 3:00 a.m., 50 gals the next day, finally after begging nd screaming I got a full tank, no apologies, nothing, this company reflects the attitude of its owner. Thanks for nothing Fred Fuller Oil !!
