Proposed Aroma Joe’s on Loudon Road falls through

A plan to build an Aroma Joe’s coffee kiosk on Loudon Road has been halted due to a zoning conflict with one of the neighbors.

The drive-up coffee shop would have been located at 245 Loudon Road, which Zoning Administrator Craig Walker said is currently a single-family home. The developer was set to go before the zoning board tonight but withdrew the application yesterday morning.

“A deed restriction was found that one of the abutters has on the property that adversely affected the site and made it undevelopable for commercial use,” Walker said.

The Aroma Joe’s developer – Randy Remick, president of Bonnette, Page & Stone – had already been working with the city to apply for zoning variances to allow the kiosk to be built on the small 15,000-square-foot lot.

Remick declined comment on the Loudon Road plan yesterday.
