‘Telegraph’ to close State House bureau
The Telegraph of Nashua will close its State House bureau Friday and has laid off its longtime political reporter Kevin Landrigan.
“The decision was an extremely difficult one to make, not just because of the hole it creates in our news coverage, but because it also means saying goodbye to one of The Telegraph’s most loyal, hard working and respected employees,” said the paper’s editor Phil Kincade in a memo sent Monday morning that was obtained by and posted on Jim Romenesko’s blog.
This announcement marks the end of the newsroom staff reductions, Kincade said in the memo. “There are no other shoes to drop,” he wrote. Kincade did not return a call for comment.
Landrigan has worked at the paper for nearly 27 years and has covered every presidential primary since 1980, according to his Twitter account.
