WATERMARK MARINE acquired Meredith businesses PRODUCTION TRAILER & DOCK and CENTRAL NH DIVERS. Watermark’s purchase of the businesses will broaden the level of services and products they provide across the Lakes Region, servicing all shorefront owner and boater’s needs at any level in marine supply, docks, boatlif ts and shoreline construction. Renovations are under way at its new 1218 Union Ave. location in Laconia, with a grand opening scheduled for the spring.
SERVICE CREDIT UNION presented a check for $15,000 to the NEW HAMPSHIRE FOOD BANK. In addition to the monetary donation, Service Credit Union delivered non-perishable items weighing close to 1,500 pounds which were collected during the credit union’s Food for Families canned food drive.
Select SUBWAY restaurants in New Hampshire announce a fundraiser for HEIFER INTERNATIONAL that will run until Christmas Eve. Five Subway restaurants will be matching $5,000 of customer’s donations, both online and in stores. Each store will have a children’s drawing and a gift basket display that will be given away. The participating locations are Laconia, the Belknap Mall, Franklin, Fisherville in Concord and Main Street in Concord.
THE CITIZENS BANK FOUNDATION provided a $25,000 grant to THE FRIENDLY KITCHEN in Concord to support its Rising from the Ashes Capital Campaign in the wake of a 2011 fire that destroyed the building. The new facility will be located on South Commercial Street and will be completed this year.
NORTHWAY BANK originated 91 loans worth more than $4 million under the SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION’S core 7(a) program during the agency’s fiscal year 2012, once again making them the top SBA lender in New Hampshire. In addition, Northway loaned more than $20 million through the SBA’s “bricks-and-mortar” 504 program of which $11 million was permanently funded by Northway.
THE TOWN OF GILMANTON was awarded $2,500 by New Hampshire the Beautiful toward the purchase of three box trailers.
BANK OF NEW HAMPSHIRE donated $1,500 to the NEW HAMPSHIRE FOOD BANK. Bank of New Hampshire ran a Facebook promotion to reach 1,500 likes and would then donate $1,500 to the food bank.
NORTH BRANCH CONSTRUCTION of Concord has begun erecting steel for the new SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE UNIVERSITY RESIDENCE HALL. This four-story building will serve as a co-ed dormitory with more than 300 beds. Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2013.
T HE NORTHEAST DELTA DENTAL FOUNDATION awarded a $5,000 grant to support three dental programs at FAMILIES FIRST HEALTH AND SUPPORT CENTER: on-site dental care, the school-based program known as Seacoast Healthy Grins and mobile dental care for people experiencing homelessness. The foundation has donated to Families First annually since the center’s founding in 2003.
