CAT implements new bus routes
New Concord Area Transit bus routes will take effect tomorrow.
CAT’s crosstown route will no longer offer service to Concord Hospital; riders must transfer in downtown Concord to the Penacook bus route to reach the hospital.
Every route will have revised stop times, said Terri Paige, mobility manager for Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack County, which runs CAT. Paige said the new schedule will correct timing issues discovered after route changes were made in 2011.
CAT held a public meeting last month about the new schedule.
“The feedback that we got was fairly positive, and folks stated that they like the new time schedule,” Paige said. “And there’s obviously a little bit of concern about the fact that (the) crosstown (route) isn’t going up to the hospital and some people have to transfer now . . . but for the most part everybody understood it.”
The new schedule is posted at stops and on buses, Paige said. It’s also available at concordarea
