ConcordTV to open studio at the Heights

Concord Community TV will open a new studio this spring at the new Heights Community Center.

The community center, in the former Dame School building, now holds the Concord Parks and Recreation Department and activities for seniors. This summer it will host youth camps, and the city’s long-term plans for the old elementary school include building a new multi-generational community center.

ConcordTV is now based at Concord High School, and that location will remain as the nonprofit’s headquarters, according to a press release.

The satellite location at the Heights will be open in time for youth video camps this summer, the station said in its release. It will also expand training and classes through the city’s parks and recreation offerings.

“We are thrilled to be involved with Concord Parks and Recreation in this new venture, having collaborated with the department for many years in teaching youth video camps for the city,” Executive Director Doris Ballard said in a press release. “Being a multi-generational facility, the center also
presents a unique opportunity for ConcordTV to
teach exciting technology in media arts to folks of all
ages, often presenting projects that will have generations working and learning together.”
