REAP Program coordinator named ‘Social Worker of the Year’

The New Hampshire Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers met in Concord on March 29 to recognize 2013 award recipients. The 2013 New Hampshire Social Worker of the Year award went to Lucille Karatzsas, the coordinator and trainer for New Hampshire’s Referral, Education, Assistance and Prevention (REAP) program.

The Citizen of the Year award went to Brad Russ for his work in helping develop a network of Child Advocacy Centers throughout the state and his lifetime advocacy for children who have been abused and neglected.

The Legislator of the Year award was presented to New Hampshire Rep. James MacKay, chairman of the Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs Committee.

Recognized with student wards were Michael DeLuca and Erica Perry from the University of New Hampshire and Kayla McKinley from Plymouth State University.
