THE CAPITAL REGION FOOD PROGRAM distributed 2.8 tons ($6,948 worth) of nonperishable food on Sept. 10 to 17 area food pantries, social service agencies and church groups in the greater Concord area as part of its Year-Round Distribution Project.

RUSTIC CRUST of Pittsfield gave back to veterans. The company’s wood-fired pizza truck made an 1,100-mile trek to Charleston, S.C., for the fourth annual Lt. Dan Weekend on Sept. 13-14. Thousands of pizzas were provided to veterans and their families. The event, organized by the Independence Fund, raised funds for the purchase of all-terrain wheelchairs for veterans.

THE NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, Division of Public Health Services, announces that New Hampshire is one of 21 recipients awarded a State Oral Disease Prevention Programs grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The aim of this grant program is to assist state health departments with improving the oral health of their residents, in particular those children and adults
who are most at risk for
oral diseases, such as tooth decay.

SERVICE CREDIT UNION presented a $10,000 check to the New Hampshire Food Bank to help keep the shelves well stocked. This contribution will help feed hundreds across the state.
