MEREDITH VILLAGE SAVINGS BANK was awarded the first Worksite Health Champion Award from the Lakes Region Partnership for Public Health. The award was given in recognition of the bank’s efforts to promote employee health and wellness. Some programs the bank offers its employees are annual flu shots, wellness fairs, on-site nutritionist consultations, fitness challenges and more.

THE COGSWELL BENEVOLENT TRUST awarded the New Hampshire Food Bank a $50,000 grant to assist with the food bank’s food purchase program.

ST. MARY’S BANK awarded the Webster House a $2,500 community outreach grant. The Webster House provides a safe, supportive home for children unable to live at home for reasons of abuse, neglect or difficulties in the community. The grant will be used to fund emergency beds.

THE BON-TON STORES raised more than $730,000 from its Mothers Day and Fathers Day promotions to support the March of Dimes imbornto campaign.

CONCORD CO-OP has a brand-new sushi department. The co-op’s Celery Stick Cafe chefs have partnered with the sushi masters at Shizen to provide all-natural sushi made fresh every day of the week during co-op store hours.

O STEAKS & SEAFOOD RESTAURANT in Concord offers anticancer-inspired meals to raise money to support Concord Hospital’s Payson Center for Cancer Care’s Anticancer Lifestyle Program. Other participating restaurants include ANGELINA’S RISTORANTE ITALIANO in Concord, CAFE INDIGO in Concord, COUNTRY SPIRIT RESTAURANT in Henniker, THE SOUP GALLERY in Concord and THE GRANITE RESTAURANT in Concord.

BEAVER MEADOW GOLF COURSE in Concord, New Hampshire’s oldest municipal golf course, ended fiscal year 2013 much better than expected. This is the first time in many years the course ended the year in a positive position. Two years ago, the course was part of a reorganization that brought the operation under the direction of the Concord Parks and Recreation Department. Since the reorganization, staff members have increased their effort to improve course conditions, increase marketing efforts and enhance overall operations.

THE COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT/GRAPPONE CONFERENCE CENTER in Concord has completed a major lobby renovation. The new design features Starbucks, high-tech GoBoard flexible work and social spaces and a 24/7 food and beverage market.
