Concord oncology nurse to serve on cancer society board

Nancy Kane of Concord has been elected to the 2014 American Cancer Society New England Division Board of Directors. Kane, an advanced oncology certified nurse and program director at Concord Hospital’s Payson Center for Cancer Care, will serve her second stint on the board.

Kane was first introduced to the American Cancer Society by her father, who was also a volunteer with the organization. In 2012, Kane received the St. George National Award from the American Cancer Society. This award recognizes outstanding volunteers who demonstrated ongoing leadership in community mission delivery and/or governance and have significantly contributed to furthering the society’s goals and programs. She has also won the Singer Family Award in 2004 and the Order of the Sword Award in 1998.
