Letter: Trains, crude oil don’t mix

Readers are invited to a rally in Dover on Sunday that will highlight the risk of trains carrying crude oil.

These trains regularly pass through many New Hampshire locations, including downtown Dover, posing a serious risk to the community and waterways. The rally will mark one year since the tragedy in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, where a runaway train carrying crude oil left the tracks and exploded. The accident claimed 47 lives and destroyed 30 homes, businesses and the town library.

Join 350NH’s rally at the intersection of Central Avenue and Washington Street in Dover any time from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 6. There will be literature and a mock oil spill. Stop by to learn how we can achieve rational solutions to our energy needs.

Do the readers know that a major train owner that transports the Canadian oil (Burlington Northern) is a MASSIVE NObama supporter. I dare a LIDV to name him. Now you know why NObama has stopped the Keystone pipeline - Do you know how much safer it is to transport oil by pipelines - Support the Keystone Pipeline
