Letter: Disappointed in Ardinger

I know Dan Feltes is committed to making the primary campaign for the District 15 Senate seat about the issues that matter to the citizens of this district, rather than about attacks.

This is why I am particularly disappointed that Kass Ardinger has chosen to attack Dan on the issues of choice and women’s health rather than engaging him in a conversation on these issues.

The glossy mailer sent by Ardinger’s campaign to the voters of District 15 claims that Kass is the “only candidate who can be trusted” on these issues gives the impression that Dan does not support reproductive rights and women’s health. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact, Dan is a genuine ally for those of us who care about women’s health, and has won the support of many current and former board members and staff of NARAL Pro-Choice and Planned Parenthood. Further, he has volunteered, donated and even opened his own home to Planned Parenthood volunteers.

This primary is an opportunity for the voters of District 15 to elect a strong, vocal advocate for women and families. It is an opportunity for Dan and Kass to discuss openly and positively their commitment to the issues that matter to the voters.

Despite her campaign literature, Kass is not the “only choice.”

I hope you will take this opportunity to come and meet Dan at one of his house parties and other events coming up in the next few weeks. Ask him about his commitment to women’s health and reproductive rights. You won’t be disappointed.
