Letter: Ardinger will fight for women of New Hampshire
I have many reasons to be a proud supporter of Kass Ardinger for state Senate.
At the top of the list is my firm belief that we need more women fighting for women’s parity on all fronts, especially with regards to health care rights.
As an activist and documentary filmmaker, I have researched the rollback of women’s reproductive health care rights for the past several years. In fact, it was the June 2011 decision by the all male New Hampshire Executive Council to defund Planned Parenthood that inspired my decision to make a film focusing on reproductive justice.
As director of Personhood: Who Decides? I have learned that too many decisions that are extremely consequential to women’s lives are being made by panels consisting solely of men.
Fundamentally this is wrong, and we must elect women to higher office to fight for our rights embodied in the U.S. Constitution.
Lastly, as a sister-in-law, I know that Kass is a staunch supporter of women’s rights. I have seen her in action as a pragmatic problem solver, a quality that is sorely lacking in our leadership across the country.
