Letter: Walk with Kass
With respect and gratitude, I write in support of the candidacy of Kass Ardinger for state senator.
Those of us in District 15 have been blessed with a challenging choice as two fine candidates have stepped up to serve and succeed the legacy of Sen. Sylvia Larsen.
Larsen has served the district with skill and honor. Her term was marked by longevity of service which afforded opportunity to develop colleagueship across party lines.
It seems that each current candidate is in accord on most state issues. Ardinger offers her readiness to listen and not be trapped in the “pledge culture,” which promotes uncivil divisiveness.
Kass brings a solid history of sustained community contribution through her school board experience and has lived the skill of listening in her leadership role with the board. She is ready to follow Larsen’s example.
She is committed to the process of legislating, which requires stated values balanced with capacity to listen and respect other differing values, and search for change and ground for a common consensus.
Many folks know of my personal lifestyle that includes walking the roads of Concord – hills, trails and distant long walks, such as across England.
So, I expect sometime ahead to “walk” with Kass about my Concord neighborhood, visiting and listening. Let’s support Kass on Sept. 9. She will “walk the walk” and serve us well.
