Letter: District 15 needs Ardinger
Residents of New Hampshire Senate District 15 are fortunate to have two extremely capable Democrats seeking Sylvia Larsen’s seat.
And while I was initially moved to support the other candidate by friends and neighbors as well as a number of local and state leaders whom I greatly respect, I have decided to vote for Kass Ardinger, who also has many distinguished supporters.
And the reason I will vote for her is because she is a woman.
Both candidates have policy views on equal rights, education, health care, job creation and the role of government that I believe will benefit the district and the state.
But, as a state and a nation, we desperately need more women in leadership.
Women are not adequately represented in positions of corporate, nonprofit and government power. Our collective priorities will only be fully advanced when we are fairly represented in the highest offices.
So, in keeping with the vision of Emily’s List, which has endorsed Ardinger, to elect pro-choice Democratic women to office, as well as in honor of the mission of the New Hampshire Women’s Initiative to advance political opportunity for women, I support Kass Ardinger for state Senate and encourage other District 15 voters to do the same.
