Letter: Yeoman’s effort
Month after month, the Contoocook Riverway Association meets to decide what we are going to focus our fundraising efforts toward, with the countless projects that need attention continuing to stack up.
We may be short on funding, but we are never short on enthusiasm with our board of directors, many volunteers and community members.
We seek out the help of others in order to accomplish tasks that otherwise would go unfinished.
This year has been very busy for the Contoocook Riverway Association.
Our railroad depot in the center of Contoocook Village has seen an incredible amount of attention over the past several months. You may have noticed a man dressed in his painting attire, high up against the building on ladders or lifts, covered head to toe in paint.
His name is Jay Peer of Peerless Painting and a board member of our organization.
Jay took it upon himself to dedicate a substantial amount of time to repaint the entire exterior of our historic landmark. With the help of Raulston Construction, which donated the use of a mechanical lift, Jay was able to complete this restoration project solely and professionally to bring it back to its magnificent glory.
On behalf of the board of directors and the entire community, I would like to thank Jay for his incredible generosity and efforts with this project.
