Hi 27° | Lo 4°

Letter: The Grange says thanks

On behalf of the of Concord Grange No. 322, I would like to thank everyone who came to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of our organization.

Walgreens Pharmacy and the Grange sponsored Splash Bash for the third year for children in grades three through five.

I would like to thank Chris Jacques and David Gill for their support in getting the flagpole installed; the Concord Fire Department Color Guard and Jerry Venne for providing the salute to the flag raising; and the Nevers Band for always presenting an excellent evening of music.

A big thank you to all who members and non-members who sent donations to help raise the $2,000.

Thanks also to Councilor-At-Large Fred Keach and Councilor Byron Champlin, who were present for this celebration, and to the state Grange for its assistance in providing membership information.

It was an honor to recognize the families of charter members of the Grange along with families who have lived on the Plains-Heights for many years and were never recognized. Many people remember this community as Burglars Island, Dark Plains, Concord Plains and Concord Heights.

I would like to thank the Monitor, Insider, Union Leader, Concord Patch, and Paul Brogan’s Downtown Dialogues show on WKXL.

Many thanks to my members who have supported me in the planning of this special year.
