Letter: Experience matters
I’ve compared the two Democratic candidates for District 15 state Senate, and here is my conclusion.
Dan Feltes and Kass Ardinger are both smart and caring candidates who are focused on the right issues. The difference, for me, is in their experience.
Feltes has lived here for eight years, been employed as a lawyer and lobbyist for a fine organization, but he has no experience as an elected official who has had to cast tough votes.
In contrast, Ardinger has lived in New Hampshire all her life, and in Concord for 25 years, served in many community capacities, including almost a decade as a three-time elected leader of our school board.
As president of the board, she demonstrated a dogged ability to build consensus, balancing $70 million budgets, achieving fair contracts with teachers and administrators, and building three new schools. Smart and caring is critical, but Ardinger is the right choice because only she has the proven elected leadership experience we need in the state Senate.
