Letter: Feltes is the clear choice
I am supporting Dan Feltes for election to state Senate District 15, which includes Concord, Hopkinton, Warner and Henniker.
Feltes has a solid record of public service, dating back to his work for New Hampshire Legal Assistance, which began in August 2006. He has worked for the United States Employment Opportunity Commission, as a policy intern for the Alliance to Save Energy and as a law assistant for the city of Dubuque, Iowa, working on the city’s $190 million budget for the America’s River Project.
In addition, this past year he was awarded the New Hampshire Bar Association’s highest award for lawyers 35 and under for outstanding public and professional service, as well as dedication to improvements in the legal profession.
In the Sept. 9 primary election, he is opposed by a very worthy candidate. However, the election seems to be generating into a women vs. men contest. In that regard, Dan has always been for equal rights for all, whether they be women, the poor, minorities or whatever.
Although I had the honor of representing the towns of Henniker, Hopkinton and Warner in the state Senate back in 1971-74, it’s not my place to tell anybody how to vote in the District 15 primary election. But if I were voting in that election, I’d open the red, white and blue curtains, pick up the grease pen attached to a string and carefully mark up the line that reads “State Senate, District 15, Dan Feltes.”
