Re “Teen held after home invasion” (Monitor front page, March 7):

There is heated debate for and against gun control. This is a perfect pro-gun example that is often left out of the mainstream liberal media. It would have been nice, for a change, if the Monitor had mentioned that the alleged act of violence by this teen thug against the mother would have been avoided if the mother had a gun in her hand as she found out who was at the door. This teen thug would have thought twice if she had known there was a gun in the house.

I bet you are afraid to actually post a pro-gun article. Guns need to stop being demonized and more people, with firearms safety classes, should be able to exercise their Second Amendment right to defend themselves.

Valerie Elkins and her daughter would probably agree with me.
