Letter: Cruel rules from military
How is it that someone can get her spouse’s military health benefit but be denied his pension?
My mother-in-law has been in litigation with the government for more than seven years. Her husband fought in the Korean War, was awarded two purple hearts and was 100 percent disabled. He died because of all the medication he was put on for breathing problems due to his injury. It was clear that his cause of death was a direct result of his medications and diagnosis.
This is a couple who were married for more than 50 years and worked hard as a couple. They built their home as a couple, raised five kids as a couple. Then when he passes away, everything gets taken away by the government.
I am not looking for sympathy. I am looking for an answer.
