Letter: A friend, not a pile of rocks
Re “Old Man memorial service? Really” (Carolyn Parrott, Sunday Monitor letter, May 5):
To Ms. Parrott, I ask you to think about the happy memories that the Old Man gave to the many. I ask you to think about the many people who climbed on the Old Man each year to ensure that our state symbol remained secured for all to enjoy. To thousands, the Old Man was a part of life. I ask you, still a pile of rocks or a pile of happy memories? I bet each time you drove past the Old Man in Franconia, you looked up. Now can we have a moment to remember a friend and not a pile of rocks?
