Letter: Where should they go?
Recently I saw one of our many homeless residents cross the road off Route 106. He was probably looking for a place to pitch his tent as he has been thrown off private property and now off public property.
Where do you want him to go? He is your son, brother, neighbor.
During the Great Depression we created camping sites called Hoovervilles. Why can’t Concord become the city that takes care of its own?
Give 10 acres of unused state land to the homeless to pitch tents. Build a concrete building with showers, a laundry, toilets so people are not using businesses for these services we all require. Perhaps businesses will contribute money or materials or labor. And have it near the food kitchen and a bus line. Save our police duties for something besides chasing people out of their beds, away from their campfires. We may save a veteran.
