Letter: Good news for motorists

As the state senator from Hooksett, I want to congratulate everyone who helped complete the open-road toll plaza in Hooksett and have it open in time for the Memorial Day weekend.

We always want government to work for our citizens and make their lives easier. This newest ORT plaza in New Hampshire is a prime example of both. It means faster travel, increased safety and a cleaner environment. Having to slowdown or stop for heavy traffic are top complaints for tollbooth users everywhere, so ORT is extremely appealing, especially in the era of high gas prices.

Clearly, ORT is the future of toll collection, and I was delighted to help cut the ribbon and usher in a new era on Interstate 93 last Wednesday. ORT in Hooksett is exciting and also a tribute to American ingenuity and technology that all drivers can benefit from.
