Letter: Crime upon crime
Imagine that one day as you go about normal daily activities, you receive a phone call that your mother has sustained an injury. The injury is causing her a great deal of pain and because she is elderly and frail, the injury is life threatening. Over the next two weeks you and your siblings spend every available moment at your mother’s side, up until the moment she dies and is relieved of the pain in her earthly body.
You and your family come together and arrangements are made for the funeral. As you dress on the day of your mom’s funeral, you receive a phone call informing you that the night before, while you were away, a thief broke into your home. Someone used the knowledge of your attendance at your mom’s funeral to break into your home and steal.
Sometime on the night of May 9 or the early morning of May 10 in Boscawen a thief used information that a woman was away at a funeral burying her mom to break into the woman’s home and steal.
Stealing from a daughter while she is at her mom’s funeral. Really.
