Letter: Franklin deserves better
I was hurt and humiliated after writing to state Rep. Dennis Reed regarding one of his recent votes and receiving these words in reply: “Thank you for your email, I was not going to run again but it’s (letters) like this one that convince me that I need to. Thank you for helping me decide.”
This was his response to my disagreeing with a particular vote. I responded, indicating that I would not be voting for him and received this: “Your one vote will not change my decision to run. You already made my decision with your stupid email. This is fun, I don’t usually get someone as easy as you, but don’t fret I have dealt with more ignorant than YOU. It comes with the job. So please keep the emails coming I have added you to my STUPID folder and you are making your way to the top of the pile fast. Don’t disappoint me.”
I am appalled that a New Hampshire state representative would use these insulting words to a taxpaying constituent simply because he disagreed with a particular vote! It’s unlikely that this is the first time Reed has displayed this disrespectful attitude. The good people of Franklin deserve better!
