Letter: The truth about Obamacare
I would love to see some letters from local employers and companies informing everyone of the cost increases that they will experience with the implementation of Obamacare next year.
It is no secret that premiums will be increasing sharply, deductibles will more than likely double, co-pays for prescriptions will increase between 25 and 50 percent. Moreover, there are taxes that businesses will have to pay which will do nothing to reduce employee coverage costs. I have heard these reports from numerous employees at several companies.
It appears that the promise made by President Obama and Democrats that this will be “affordable” is untrue. Let’s face it, health care will be even more unaffordable in six months.
The Concord Monitor was a champion of Obamacare and surely it knows and understands that premiums will increase. Perhaps it could lead the way and reveal the percentage increase to its organization. Moreover, might I suggest that the Monitor does the investigative reporting and get out to the local employers and report the facts about Obamacare. If the Monitor folks want to truly be a newspaper, surely they should want to do the investigative work involved to report the truth about Obamacare. Anything short of that would be playing partisan politics.
