Letter: The need for prayer

Re “It’s intimidation” (Monitor letter, June 7): I’d like to respond to why Kathleen A. Hedstrom may feel it’s important to pray in her letter, “We simply pray.” I also took part in standing at Concord Feminist Health Center to engage in conversation and pray for the unborn a few years back. While we can pray at home and church, having a visible presence allows others to hear our side. In any informed decision we want to hear the whole counsel and make a good decision. Teens are influenced easily in crisis situations. Sometimes a need is to have one person who will listen and help them choose life. So many resources are available to help families. Many parents have dispelled the myth that you have to be “ready” to have a child. A child gets you ready, and you learn the joys of mothering despite circumstances with your baby.
