Letter: On the right track
Re “In Loudon we have missed on opportunity” (Monitor letter, July 29):
I’ve never met John Moretto, the fellow who wanted to turn a bed-and-breakfast into a homeless shelter. But I’d like to. I think he’s on the right track with helping homeless people: Wake up in the morning in a nice room with breakfast and a plan for the day.
My advice would be to buy an old farm in Pittsfield. Don’t count on government services. Become independent. Don’t ask permission. Your rules seem a little stiff. The random drug testing. The criminal background checks. No one needing psychiatric care.
When are we all going to wake up? These people are us.
