Letter: Bad news for the environment

The U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment and Related Agencies recently moved to slash the 2014 Interior and Environment Appropriations budget by 18 percent. The bill zeroed out the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a program designed to protect and expand parks, while falling short of restoring years of budget cuts to the National Park Service.

Gutting the Land and Water Conservation Program puts moose, other wildlife and beloved landscapes like the White Mountains at risk. It also blocks progress on clean water and climate. The bill would block the Obama administration from tackling stormwater pollution and restoring protections to our waterways, including the Connecticut River watershed. After New Hampshire sweltered in record-breaking heat, this bill would block measures to cut global warming pollution.

I am tired of watching U.S. House leaders fan the flames of global warming by allowing carbon pollution to spew without limit from the smokestacks of dirty power plants. It’s hard to imagine a worse attack on our parks, waterways and the future of our planet. It’s time to stop staging this political theater with our environment and start implementing real solutions to the pollution that plagues our air and water. The subcommittee should jettison this bill and start over.

FACT: there has been no globul warming for 17 years and 4 months - readers should google it to learn the truth

The only fact here is that sail believes it to be a fact. Nothing to see here, folks. When sail finally acknowledges the near unanimity of the climate science presented in peer-reviewed articles, THAT will be newsworthy.

"Forget global warming!? Earth undergoing global COOLING since 2002! Climate Scientist Dr. Judith Curry: ‘Attention in the public debate seems to be moving away from the 15-17 year ‘pause’ to the cooling since 2002’ " Facts the alarmists hate to admit

Sail: Remember this vote the next time you write sarcastically that Democrats accuse Republicans of seeking a return to the days of open sewers flowing into rivers, and smokestacks fouling the air. This vote was not just about climate change. To quote Lily Von Stupf, Teutonic Titwillow in another context: "It's Twue, it's twue."

sail...if only you could support your ridiculous statements. Oh, wait, I found a support for you: Top 11 Warmest Years On Record Have All Been In Last 13 Years you can find it here: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/12/071213101419.htm

Must have read it on the internet. After all it has to be true to be on the internet, right?
