Letter: GMOs were hurting my health

For the past 15 years I have had problems with my health that drained my finances and my ability to work and left me bedridden. I had severe kidney pain that doctors could not diagnose and problems with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome. Six months ago I began eating an organic diet, but I still did not feel like my old self. Three months ago, I started avoiding genetically engineered food and found that not only has my health and energy has returned, but that I have been pain free. In fact, two weeks ago I hiked to the summit of Mount Washington!

This quest for health meant that I had to make lifestyle changes. Shopping for GMO-free food is not easy because there are hidden sources of GMOs. In addition, there are no laws that require that genetically engineered food be labeled. It is my right as individual to know what I am eating. This is why I support House Bill 660, which would require that foods that are modified in part or in whole be labeled in our state.

A wealth of information on GMOs can be found at NHRightToKnowGMOs.org. To get involved, please visitfacebook.com/NHRightToKnowGMOs. Turns out these little GMO buggers were bugging me!
